Purpose Statement

The job of Electronics Technician (JC697) is done for the purpose/s of servicing and maintaining electronic equipment; identifying repair and/or replacement needs; providing necessary information/training on the proper uses of equipment; ensuring availability of adequate materials to complete assignments in a timely manner; and responding to emergency after-hour call-outs.

This job is distinguished from similar jobs by the following characteristics: specific education requirements (see Education on page 2) include formal programs of study (i.e. apprenticeship programs, etc.) which are equivalent to a Community College degree or Vocational School degree or certificate.

This job reports to the Supervisor-Mechanical/Electrical Trades or Director-Maintenance and Facilities
